Kini’s

Kini’s is a new restaurant featuring Greek dishes. It’s part of the Quality Italian restaurant group. It’s located off the lobby of the Clayton Hotel. The other side of the lobby was a market area but now a fancy bar. The hotel even was hosting a fancy fashion show, and I was not asked to walk the runway!

We each had a glass of Greek wine and shared three different plates. The first dish was Spanakopita which is phyllo dough holding spinach and light cheese. It’s a good Greek dish to start the evening as it’s light and tasty, especially with a side of yogurt.

The highlight of the meal was the flaming Kasseri cheese dish. It’s presented in a cast-iron skillet and the ouzo is lit by the server. After the flames die down the cheese is eaten with the side of bread. It’s hot and delicious but on a cold and windy evening, it tasted great.

The main dish was the roasted spring chicken with garlic, lemon, onions, and lots of oregano twigs. The chicken is hard to cut but worth the effort as it is tender and very favorable with all the added herbs.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Kini’s is Very Good. If Greek food is not your thing they have other dishes including fish and steaks.
