Off for a snack to enjoy one of the last warm fall days at Misfit Snackbar. It was warm enough to sit outside. Misfit is really a foodie hangout disguised as a bar. It was awarded by 5280 Magazine as one of the top 25 best restaurants in Denver.
We had a fancy cocktail with our snack. The cocktail was named, My Scoville Romance, as it contained Chile infused mezcal and lime with chiles rather than salt on the glass! Definitely caught your attention.
The snack was the blooming onion okinomiyaki ( Japanese flour) that was large enough for dinner. The onion is covered not only with the flour but also with bonito flakes and is surrounded at the edge of the plate by Japanese mayo . It’s a beautiful presentation and a lovely taste to match.
My ratings are: It’s Ok, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Misfit Snackbar is Good. It’s a bar with very good small plates of food. The location on East Colfax may intimidate many folks but try it out!
