Stone Cellar Bistro

Off to the suburbs to visit Old Town Arvada and the Stone Cellar Bistro. Parking was a hassle as there are limited spaces. It’s a new restaurant founded by two chefs that worked together at Z Cuisine that closed years ago. Stone Cellar focuses on Colorado products even some from very local sources in Denver.

We started with a shared Colo. lettuce salad that had both apples and bacon from Colo. The sweeten walnuts and the vinaigrette dressing provided a great taste and start

One had the chicken with schmalz dumplings entree and the other had the Louisiana catfish with hush puppies

I had to try the catfish as it was one of the few times it’s ever been on a menu in Denver! The fish is flown in from Louisiana and paired with hush puppies, veggies and LA hot sauce. The fish was okay but the best part of the dish was the sauce that was soften to mild. The hush puppies are bright green due to the green onions added.

The grilled chicken with schmalz dumplings with veggies and lettuce was delicious. The chicken was very tender and flavorful. We enjoyed the two main dishes.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for the Stone Cellar Bistro is Very Good. We had very good service to match the good food. It’s expensive but worth the visit.
