Voghera Ristorante & Apericena

The restaurant, Voghera, pays tribute to a small town in Italy. The co-owner and manager , Marco, was born in Italy. The front of the restaurant is called Apericena and centers on small plates and a glass of wine. The back area is the fine dining with white napkins but it’s a little too dark lighting wise. The restaurant space housed the Way Back Restaurant years ago.

We shared a caprese salad and each had a main dish. One dish was the linguini Fruitti di Mare with clams, shrimp and scallops. The other main dish was the Pesce del Giorno ( fish of the day – Sea Bass ) with carrots. potatoes and broccolini. The linguini was slightly spicy but the seafood and extra cheese made a very good plate. The sea bass was very good especially with the small potatoes and carrots. The broccolini was not cooked enough but looked great on the plate. Both main dishes made a great presentation dish.

The caprese salad was just average as the tomatoes were not the best of the season and it was small in size.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Voghera is Very Good. The two main dishes and a glass of wine overtake the caprese salad. The restaurant opened last fall, so check it out!
