We visited a new restaurant that was featured in The NY Times, Three Saints Revival. The food is focused on tapas. On our Sunday evening visit, diners were few. It’s in the Indigo Hotel, thus they serve all day long.
The two of us ordered the Brie cheese plate and two tapas each. The tapas were the Ricotta crostini, corn polenta fries, summer squash casuela, and the Brandade salt cod.
The 4 tapas dishes had a great presentation but 3 of 4 lacked the necessary flavor. The Crostini with pickled cherries was delicious. The corn polenta fries, casuela summer squash and the Brandade salt cod all looked great when presented but lacked significant flavor. For instance, the Brandade salt cod is cod and potatoes puréed but one could only taste potatoes and not any salt cod flavor. The olive tapenade topping was the highlight of the salt cod dish. Overall, the 3 tapas were disappointing.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Three Saints Revival is It’s OK. Hopefully for a new restaurant with a lively interior they will improve the food.
