In Cherry Creek, 2 food and bar options are up and running. First, Derecho just opened and will serve Spanish style food with a beautiful bar. It has a private party area upstairs but the main dining area is the place to be. Lots of tapas options paired with wine and cocktails are the focus. The food includes salads and charcuterie choices.
We enjoyed a Rose wine from Sicily with a Piquillo Relleno pepper. The bright red pepper was lightly grilled and it is filled with goat cheese. It is a great summer tapa.
The Kissbee at the Jacquard Hotel is rooftop bar with a large food menu of both small and large plates. It’s an open air bar with views of Denver. A beautiful outdoor pool sits next door but it’s reserved for hotel quests only.
We enjoyed a fancy cocktail, Peru with a view. It had Hibiscus infused Pisco, a type of brandy from Peru, mixed with mezcal and lime and fresh mint leaves! The marinated olives and feta cheese were a good small plate. Large plates include chicken sliders, shrimp and charcuterie boards.
