A locally owned and operated restaurant in Cherry Creek with roots from Italy and Chile. It has two summertime patio areas. Either patio is a good place to watch all the people walking by. Mile High Dining felt lucky as we were able to walk to the restaurant. Cucina features pizza and pasta dishes. One pasta dish, lasagna, is made with paper thin slices of eggplant in place of noodles. It was too hot of a day to enjoy a large plate of pasta or another main dish.
We sat outside and shared 4 dishes family style, the Caesar salad with scallops, Brussels sprouts , burrata marinara , and the fried calamari.
The Caesar salad had four large seared scallops and filled the plate. It was light and a refreshing salad but it needed some extra Caesar dressing. The Brussels sprouts were too dry to enjoy.
The Burrata marinara was the show piece of presentation. The cheese was sitting in a bowl of tomato sauce. It’s a very light dish and perfect for a hot summer evening. Finally, the fried calamari saved the meal. The calamari was crispy on the outside but retained a soft and fresh taste. The peppers added a little spice. It’s a very large plate and enough for two to share.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
