Almost 20 years old, Satchel’s on 6th serves pasta, meats, and seafood. It’s a small but very friendly neighborhood restaurant. It’s operated by a husband and wife team with lots of help. The bar provides the best seating in the house. There is outdoor seating but it along busy 6th Avenue and the noise. Inside has several good artworks and lots of great music playing.
We started with Duck fat fries with Parmesan and herbs. The plate of fries are first dipped in duck fat then deep fried The fries were delicious. They arrived warm and crispy!
The main dish was the fish of the night, salmon. It was pan seared and served with lots of watermelon radishes. Definitely one of the best presentation as the radishes added lots of color. The fish was topped with a light cheese and lots of herbs. The salmon was cooked just right and it was very tasty.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
