Mile High Dining and 3 others enjoyed an evening meal at the Tables restaurant while sitting outside on the patio. Tables serves American style food and it’s operated by a husband and wife team. The duo dish creative New American cuisine in quirky bungalow-style spot with patio. Mile High Dining had visited Tables almost 2 years ago for a take away meal during the pandemic. The food continues to receive good grades.
We shared two starters of olives with bread and shishito peppers. The peppers were grilled and tasted very good but if they had been presented on a plate with the strawberries their presentation would greatly improve.
Mile High was allowed to sample the other 3 entrées. The chilled carrot soup with mint and spiced almonds was excellent. Easily the best dish of the evening. It was paired with a romaine lettuce salad that was good.
Next, the halibut with rhubarb and peppers was very good. The fish was still warm when served and had a great mild flavor. The pork special was pork loin stuffed with sausage and sitting on udon noodles was the meat lovers choice. The pork was very tender! The last entree was the seared scallops with risotto. They were good but not great as they were a little overcooked.
The 3 ladies enjoyed a bowl of citrus sorbet to finish.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Tables restaurant is Very Good. We all enjoyed sitting outside on the patio.
