The newest food hall in the Denver area, Golden Mill sits on Clear Creek in downtown Golden and made a fantastic setting on a beautiful spring day. The beers made the setting an even better way to spend an afternoon outside.
First, you check in and are given a RFID card paired with your credit card for food and beverages. Options include chicken, barbecue, Mexican, sushi, and ice cream. The beverages are beer, wine, margaritas, and cider from a wall of over 50 taps that you pour yourself. Beverages are priced per ounce. The RFID card makes it very easy to purchase.
We had Mexican food with a margarita and a beer. The chicken tacos with salsa Roja were very good.
The other diner had a large quesadilla with beef and we added some guacamole to add some flavor and color to the quesadilla. We both shared the guacamole with a large plate of chips.
It’s not the fanciest Mexican food in town but clearly it’s the best place to sit outside and enjoy life. Just plan on a good weather day to enjoy the Golden Mill.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Golden Mill is Very Good as the setting along Clear Creek dominates!
