Billy’s Inn

We went to the new Billy’s Inn in Congress Park. It’s an upscale version of the original Billy’s Inn located in the Berkeley neighborhood founded in 1933 and it’s still going today. The three of us enjoyed Mexican dishes at probably the newest restaurant in Denver. We liked seeing all of the vegetarian options on the menu.

The Baja crispy fish tacos we started with were filled with cheese and slaw with a side of salsa and lime. They were delicious as the crispy fish dominated. They’re even better with a Mexican beer.

The vegetarian dish of roasted calabacites enchiladas are filled with squash, corn, mushrooms, and black beans. They received the best dish of the evening award. The enchiladas are served on a large plate with plenty of lettuce and soft rice.

The mahi fish taco was also rated very good. One can’t go wrong with a fish taco and beer.

The posole soup with radishes and diced onions is filled with several different types of vegetables and soft pieces of pork. One other diner had the green chili and was turned off by the slightly burnt flavor. Since it was packed with masa and lots of roasted chilies that was understandable.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Billy’s Inn is Very Good. Enjoy the good and affordable Mexican food and lots of music. If you enjoy tequila and mezcal, check out their selection of over 100 options!
