Mile High Dining found the most festive decorated bar the busy My Neighbor Felix, an upscale Mexican restaurant. They have lots of heated outside seating which surrounds the restaurant with some tables even having tiny open fire pits on the table. Once again, we were the oldest customers enjoying the evening.
We started with the spicy margarita, which will catch your tongue, and a mild house margarita with the guacamole Fresco with two bowls of housemade chips. It was a simple presentation but the guacamole was very flavorful as they use avocados, onions, lime, and a dice of jalapeño peppers. The chips are light and delicious.
Next, the table had empanadas with the rotisserie chicken. They were served at a toasty warm temperature with a pulled chicken center. It’s a very good dish.
We then ordered butternut squash enchiladas. It had a very good presentation and with added Colorado rotisserie chicken, it was definitely a very good meal as I love the chicken and squash flavors.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for My Neighbor Felix is Very Good. One of the better presentations of Mexican food by any restaurant in Denver. And the flavor of the dishes was very good. It’s a fun place.
