It has been so pleasant to visit restaurants again, Mile High Dining decided to showcase 5 dishes of the last year that are particularly great. These dishes are presented in no particular order and surprisingly include 3 takeaways.
Bass Crudo from Wildflower. Colorado Alamosa bass is paired with citrus, pickled serano peppers and radishes. The mix of the peppers with the soft flavored fish provides a great taste and the presentation was excellent. The added citrus makes it one of my summer’s favorites. @wildflowerlohi
Grilled Artichokes from Hillstone. Three large halves of grilled artichoke are served with a dipping sauce. They are delicious and continue to be the best grilled artichoke in town. Mile High Dining even had an artichoke tasting evening going to three different restaurants and Hillstone won hands down. @hillstonedenver
Scarlett snapper ceviche from FishNBeer. A cousin of the traditional red snapper, the ceviche is mixed with avocadoes and pineapple and a large bowl of chips. The pineapple adds a great new flavor and is one of the best summer dishes. It went well with the “Shirtless Putin Catching Rays” beer. @fishnbeer_denver
Bison burger from Toro. The burger comes covered with bacon jam and jack cheese and a side of house-cut fries. It’s large enough for two to share and for one that tries to avoid red meat, it is a great once-a-year treat! @torodenver
Saffron Rissoto from Frasca Food and Wine. We had to assemble and cook this dish using 6 different ingredients. It required 30 minutes of preparation to warm the bouillon, toast the rice, add the diced veggies with the salt, butter, and cheese. It was worth the effort. An excellent meal. @frascafoodwine
