4 Favorites that have closed their doors!

Mile High Dining says goodbye to 4 favorite restaurants that have closed their doors. The last two years have been very difficult on the restaurant business. We will miss Acorn, Euclid Hall, 12@Madison, and Max’s Wine Dive.

Acorn was located inside the Source Foundry and it was the child of Oak and Fourteenth from Boulder. The bowl of warmed olives with garlic was delicious. Also, the buttered beans with a poached egg were quite different and made a very good presentation and taste. After the meal, you could wander around the building and enjoy other bars and food stalls.

Euclid Hall was a beer lover’s paradise. The place had a beer “cicerone”. They are the equivalent of a wine sommelier. The beer list was organized in math order, simple and light to complex with about 75 different choices. Food was available but it was an afterthought.

12@Madison had one of the best chef’s counters to enjoy watching the chefs work. It was a small place with very friendly service. Dishes were from around the world from risotto to noodles and pickled apples. The Lemon tart was the best.

Max’s Wine Dive had great oldies music and fried chicken. What could be better, the Beatles and southern styled fried chicken?
