Hillstone

Mile High Dining loves grilled artichokes and Hillstone has some of the best. We were not able to order online as they’re not on the menu and in short supply. This is the first appearance of artichokes on the menu. We are also able to enjoy watching the kids play volleyball games in the park. It’s definitely spring time in Denver.

We selected two artichoke dishes, Caesar salad, smoked salmon, and a crispy chicken sandwich.

The star of the evening was the grilled artichokes. Three large halves are presented with a bit of sauce on the side and the inside of the artichoke is cleaned out, so they are easy to eat.

Next, the smoked salmon and toast is a great appetizer. The salmon has a good smoky flavor that you could easily put on your favorite bagel in the morning.

The Caesar salad looks and tastes very good. Lots of lettuce, croutons, cheese, and a dressing. It makes a great springtime salad.

The only so-so dish was the crispy chicken sandwich. It is very large and sliced into thirds. As a result it is very difficult to eat as the bun no longer holds everything together. The chicken tasted good but it was way too messy.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Hillstone is Very Good. Just forget the chicken sandwich and enjoy the artichokes with a glass of wine.
