Mile High Dining visited Bistro Vendome this Saturday and not snowing. Bistro Vendome is one of 4 restaurants owned and operated by Chef Jen Jasinski and her business partner, Beth Gruitch. The others are Rioja, Stoic and Genuine, and Ultreia. We ordered online which was a snap and followed the Google map on their website for curbside pick up. It sent us to the wrong alley off of Larimer but with a call to the restaurant, we found the correct alley for curbside service.
We ordered 5 dishes: a crepe, steak and fries, mussels and fries, salad, and dessert.
The crêpe included roasted chicken, tomatoes, and lots of olives, and topped with a fried egg. The olives and tomatoes added a new and great taste to this large sized appetizer. The crepe was pleasantly different styled. It was delicious.
The salad was made of baby kale, pickled cauliflower, and a vinaigrette dressing. A satisfying light and green salad.
The entrée of the classic steak and frites had a small flat iron steak with lots of fries. The steak was delicious as it was both juicy and tender and there were lots of extra fries for the next day.
The other main entrée was the mussels with fries. It’s a classic Mediterranean dish. There were even two containers of mussels sitting in white wine and herb broth with extra toasted bread. The mussels were large in size and tasted very good paired with the wine. Again, lots of extra french fries for the next day.
The cream Brulee was vanilla flavored with a topping of hardened sugar. It was given the thumbs up!
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Bistro Vendome is Very Good. Just double check with the restaurant to get the correct alley for curbside pick up.
