Vert Kitchen

Mile High Dining went to Vert Kitchen for a takeaway lunch. It’s a small restaurant serving 100% organic produce, sustainable meats, fish, and diary products. Currently, seating is very limited as their patio is closed, so enjoy a takeaway. It’s open for breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Sunday.

We ordered a tuna sandwich, peanut slaw, a side order of sardines, and a small quesadilla.

The lemon tuna sandwich was a line caught Albacore tuna with toasted Levan bread, pickled cucumbers, radishes, greens, and the house dressing. It’s large in size and looks delicious. The radishes and cucumbers add a great crunch to the tuna. The toasted bread helped keep the sandwich from becoming mushy for a takeaway meal.

The peanut slaw with cabbage, peanuts, and peanut vinaigrette is delicious. The dressing and peanuts add a great flavor to the cabbage. Clearly, one of the best slaw dishes in Denver.

The side order of sardines are lightly smoked and are presented in the usual sardine tin. It was fish day!

Lastly, the child-sized quesadilla is rather plain with a tortilla and cheese but a good option for someone who doesn’t like spicy foods.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict for the Vert Kitchen is Very Good and the peanut slaw is highly recommended.
