Quality Italian is an upscale steakhouse with an Italian based food selection. Denver is an outpost of this New York City group that has 7 restaurants in the Big Apple and one in Miami. There is an outside patio and even expanded seating in the street which is nicely decorated. For Mile High Dining, it was takeaway dinner number 28. Our order was by telephone and a gracious voice eagerly helped us choose. The pick up was at the bar maned by several friendly bartenters.
We selected 5 dishes: focaccia bread with ricotta cheese, tricolor salad, spicy crab and avocado salad, gnudi, and a chocolate cannoli.
The focaccia bread with house made ricotta cheese, Colorado honey, and pinenuts was a good appetizer to share with the table.
The tricolored salad had a great presentation with the red, light green, and dark green lettuce. It had a very good taste with the light dressing but it was hard to eat because of the large size of the lettuce leaves.
The spicy crab and avocado salad with marinated tomatoes, and croutons was spicy and delicious. The large pieces of crab were a great. Also, it was a very large-sized portion enough for three servings. It was voted as a co-favorite as the best dish of the evening.
The corn gnudi with king crab and pistachios was a new dish for Mile High Dining. Gnudi looks like potato gnocchi but it is made with ricotta cheese and Seminola wheat. Again, another delicious dish. The gnudi is even lighter in texture and taste than gnocchi but with the crab and pistachios, it’s a great find. The other winner for best dish of the evening.
For dessert, we shared a chocolate cannoli. It was very rich tasting and lots of chocolate!
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
