Barolo Grill is a long-lived, almost 30 years old, Italian restaurant now with a beautiful outdoor patio. We recently ordered online which was easy, but had problems at pick up. First, we were given the wrong order of food that was easy to correct. After our order was delivered curbside we left for home. We then received two panic phone calls from the restaurant stating they forgot to pack one of the dishes. This required a drive back to Barolo Grill. Last weekend an umbrella hits the car, and this meal required 45 minutes driving the city.
Let’s explore the food and try to forget the pick up issues. Our selections were the antipasti plate, green salad, eggplant parmesan, chicken parmesan. veggies, and focaccia bread.
The Antipasta plate included cured meats, olives, pickles, several kinds of cheese, and a small cherry compote. It was good but not great. It needed some crackers for easier serving.
Next, the Primavera Salad with mixed greens, spring vegetables, cheese, and lemon vinaigrette had a great presentation and very good flavor.
The Eggplant Parmesan was a new dish for Mile High Dining. The eggplant is lightly breaded and fried. It’s presented on a plate of spaghetti with tomatoes and parmesan cheese. Excellent taste and large enough for two servings. It’s a great summer time dish and surprisingly light.
It’s twin, Chicken Parmesan, was similar in presentation to the Eggplant but even larger in size. The chicken had a very good taste with all the tomatoes. Again, enough for two!
The Side of Veggies had grilled carrots, potatoes, and broccoli was good.
Lastly, the extra Foccacia Bread was so delicious and light as air. It was enjoyed by all.
If you overlook the poor curbside pick up experience, the food was very good and tasty.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The Verdict ⚖️ for Barolo Grill was Very Good as we did not factor the poor the pickup experience and focused on the food.
