Stoic and Genuine

Stoic and Genuine is a seafood restaurant located in beautiful Union Station. It’s part of the empire operated by Chef Jen Jasinski which includes Rioja, Bistro Vendome, and Ultreia. Her high-end beer joint. Euclid Hall, recently closed. There is outdoor seating available but Mile High Dining enjoyed takeaway meal number 20. Their takeaway process was easy and efficient.

Our food items were as follows: cioppino, deviled eggs, lobster roll, cheeseburger, peach salad, and lemon meringue dessert.

First, the Cioppino had mussels, shrimp, and a tomato-based fish broth with a side of toasted bread. It was very tasty and the bread for dipping was tops. The broth in these types of dishes always is my favorite part.

The Deviled Eggs had pieces of lobster on each one of them with small pieces of celery. A very good presentation and a taste to match.

The Maine Lobster Roll included a small side of french fries. How can you go wrong with a lobster roll? Not with this one! Again, several large pieces of lobster always makes you feel extravagant.

Next, the Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onions, American cheese, and a side of fries. It was OK but not great. Mile High Dining recommends you stick with the seafood and forget the burgers at Stoic and Genuine.

The Peach and Barrata Salad with heirloom tomatoes, cucumber, and croutons was covered in a peach vinaigrette. It was the highlight of the meal. Everyone gave it an excellent grade and it was the best summer salad so far. The sweet Colorado peaches are the reason.

The desert was the Lemon Meringue Bar. It was not only pretty to look it, but also a great taste to end the meal.

The ratings are as follows: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The Verdict ⚖️ for Stoic and Genuine is Very Good but just forget the cheeseburger.
