Sunday Vinyl

For the July 4th weekend, Mile High Dining enjoyed a grill-at-home picnic from Sunday Vinyl. This is weekend number 14 of takeaway meals! We had potato salad, wedge lettuce salad, grill-at-home pork burgers, and s’mores for dessert. As a bonus, two bottles of rosé and red wine were included. The kit included cooking instructions and wine notes.

The Potato Salad was prepped and allowed to marinate one hour at room temperature before grilling the burgers. The Wedge Salad was arranged on a plate and easily assembled.

The two large Pork Burgers had 6 paragraphs of cooking instructions. I always thought you just flip the burgers once. After grilling, the instructions asked you spread mayonnaise on the heated buns and add lots of the shredded lettuce.

The Potato Salad was very good as it included a lot of roasted peppers. It even had a little spicy kick. The Wedge Salad included cherry tomatoes and pickled onions. Great taste but a little too fancy for a picnic!

The Pork Burgers were grilled to perfection especially after meticulously following 6 paragraphs of instructions. Mile High Dining added Hatch’s Green Chili to provide an extra punch! The Burgers were delicious. Also, liberty was taken and rather than one of the wines, Mile High Dining enjoyed a cold beer to help calm the chili’s. A glass of the red wine, Chateau Guilhem “Pot de Vin” ( Merlot) after the meal was very satisfying.

Lastly, the S’mores. They were gooey and delicious! They were ready to be heated in a foil box, so preparation was easy. You just needed a roll of paper towels.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Sunday Vinyl is Very Good.
