Cherry Creek’s newest restaurant, Flower Child, has a slogan, “Healthy Food for a Happy World “. That’s ironic as it is owned by the Cheesecake Factory and their slogan is “Jumbo Plates”. Last year the Cheesecake Factory purchased from Fox Restaurants three chains: North, True Food, and the Flower Child .
We visited on a Saturday evening and the place filled up quickly. It’s a counter where you order and pay. You then seat yourself after pouring your own drinks and the food is delivered to your table.
Each had the chicken entree with different side dishes. One had the sugar snap peas with spicy Japanese eggplant and the roasted butternut squash. The other diner had the Mac and cheese with the side of roasted broccoli. The chicken is 5 or 6 slices of breast meat sitting on top of the side dishes in a large bowl.
The chicken is tender but it needs a sauce, gravy, or something to help is plain presentation. Sadly, one of the dishes was presented cold temperature wise. That’s disappointing on a cold night in Denver. The Spicy Japanese eggplant presented lots of heat due to the jalapeño peppers.
As for the drinks, the lemonade with cranberry was a hit. I ordered a beer that was not delivered. Finally, when it came it was presented in a canning type of jar. Not a good presentation!
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Flower Child is It’s OK.
