Briar Common Brewery & Eatery

The best presentation of a flight of beers found in Denver. Four glasses chosen from the extensive list and nametags are provided to help you remember.

We had lunch at Briar Common which is a remodeled 100 year old horse equipment building, pleasantly updated with large windows. The wood on the bar is from a bowling alley. Just don’t knock over any pins.

The Brewery makes about a dozen different types of beers. I had to try “Bees Knees”. Stay with the stouts and forget Bees Knees as it’s too sweet. The other diner selected the Briar Pale Ale which was rated good.

The food selected was a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup, a classic winter time dish. Secondly, a tuna poke salad was picked. Both had a very good presentation and taste to match. The sandwich had lots of cheese. The tuna was in a large bowl filled with vegetables and greens. Very good.

It’s one of the best breweries in Denver as the building is pleasant, the beer is very good, and the food was the best of any brewery we have visited.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Briar Common is Very Good.
