One of the newest Italian restaurants in town, Olivia was started by several former Mizuna’s employees. The restaurant is a small place in the Wash Park neighborhood.
We started with a glass of wine. Of course, I had to have the Nebbiolo, very Italian. On the table was warm rolls with butter. Excellent for a snowy evening.
We then ordered Risotto, Garganelli, Tortellini, and Lasagna. The lasagna, which was the evening’s special, had great flavor but it wasn’t warm enough temperature-wise. The Tortellini with butternut squash was the best dish of the night. The Garganelli with butter and pine nuts was also a good pasta dish. The Risotto Cacio Pepe had too much cheese. The rice was lost.
The staff was very friendly but improperly charged us for a bottle of wine that we did not order.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Olivia is Good.
