Annette’s Restaurant

Annette’s Restaurant is located in the Stanley Marketplace, Aurora, CO.

Chef/owner, Caroline Glover, was just named one of the best new chefs in America by Food and Wine. The restaurant has also been honored by the James Beard Foundation as one of the best new restaurants and her waffles are on the cover of the 5280 Magazine.

Two of us started with a cocktail named, “odmjuk”. Swedish for humble, as it’s essentially alcohol and lemonade. A good summer drink. We started with the deviled eggs as a snack (pictured).

Next, the artichoke hearts with charred pea jus (pictured).

The charred broccoli rabe with crunchy bread crumbs and Chile flakes. The chef uses a wood burning stove and grill in her small, open kitchen.

The main dish was the roasted whole fish (ocean bass) with kale, salsa verde, and chiles. The fish was deboned at table side by staff.(pictured).The desserts were a light pecan pie and a chocolate chip ice cream sandwich.

My ratings are “It’s OK”, “Good”, and “Very Good “, and “Excellent”. Annette’s is rated “Very Good”.
