Somebody People Restaurant is located at 1165 S. Broadway, Denver. It’s a total vegan restaurant, meaning no meat, fish, or dairy products. First, the name comes from the song, Five Years, by David Bowie. Check out the painting of David Bowie in the bathroom.
We enjoyed the Sunday Supper five course set menu dinner at only $25 per person. Also, great specials on the wine, such as a half carafe for only $15. It’s my first review of a totally plant based restaurant.
Before the food, several items to note. They do not supply any containers to take extra food home and even warn you to bring your own. Also, materials used to build the restaurant are environmentally sensitive such as using “pineapple” leather for the barstools. Lastly, the husband and wife owners are from Australia. Welcome to Denver!
Now, the gluten-free five course meal included squash, carrots, potatoes, pasta, and sorbet. All foods are served family style with a serving for each two people. The butternut squash with the lime was delicious. The carrots are grilled and include pistachios and olives, again very good. The potatoes include a little spice for the taste. The pasta baked with mushrooms and almond sauce was a very good dish. This dish is large enough to use your take-home container. Lastly, the sorbet from plums and berries use only water and sugar to make but it was just too plain tasting for me but a half carafe of wine (Pinot Noir) makes one easily not to complain.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict for the Somebody People Restaurant is Very Good and an excellent value.
