Morin Restaurant 🍴🍴🍴

The Morin is a new restaurant with a French influence. Even the name Morin is French. It’s the owner’s grandmother’s French maiden name. The wooden structure ( pictured) above the bar is not the hull of a boat but the outline of Mont Blanc, France, upside down!

The restaurant is located in LODO in a building that has historical-significance. Read the marker outside the front door. The building has been pleasantly updated since it’s days as the Wazee Supper Club.

As for the food, we sampled many small plates. First, the bread and butter was a work of art (pictured). Next, the snap peas and asparagus ( both pictured) were summertime delicious. Most of the dishes were accented with edible flowers such as the scallops in citrus (pictured). So pretty!

Our main entree was gnocchi, which is Italian not French. The potato gnocchi was very light and fluffy. The most popular dish was a plate of fresh oysters (pictured).

Morin did present some classic desserts. Mount Blanc is a butter and creamed carrot roll (pictured). The coconut sorbet is the best dessert for a summer dish. Also, there were macaroons and chocolates. Finally, service was very good.

Overall, my ratings are: It’s OK, 🍴Good, 🍴🍴Very Good, 🍴🍴🍴and Excellent. 🍴🍴🍴🍴Morin is rated Very Good.🍴🍴🍴
