We were on a mission this weekend, find a good seafood restaurant at an affordable price. Mission accomplished, Jax Fish House and Oyster Bar in Glendale, CO. ( 650 S. Colorado Blvd.). It is located amongst several hotels and restaurants on the east side of Colorado Blvd.
The outside of the restaurant is nondescript but the inside is welcoming and bright as there is a very high ceiling and large windows.
Above the bar area are wooden planks resembling a whale skeleton held up by posts covered with clam shells.
At one end of the bar is the oyster bar which is always covered with crab legs, oysters, and ice.
Happy Hour is a great time for a visit. One can have a draft beer for $4.00! Food from the HAPPY HOUR menu is priced from $4.00 to $10.25.
The steamed mussels with roasted tomatoes and chorizo (spiced pork) are superb. The mussels are only $9.00. And add a side of fries and it’s a meal by itself. 
From the regular menu, the Lump Blue Crab Cake is very good. The recipe for this item has made the local cookbooks. With the side of green arugula on the plate, it is pleasing to the eye.
For oyster fans, they do a very good job and always have a wide selection from the east and west coasts.
Ratings are It’s OK, Good, Very Good and Excellent.
My overall rating of this restaurant is good as price was one of the considerations to find the best affordable seafood .
